Discover a fantastic, FREE initiative for primary schools, supported by MSP

The Daily Mile™ encourages children to jog or run, at their own pace, for 15 minutes outside with their friends.

It was founded by a head teacher and can help schools:

  • support mental wellbeing
  • improve concentration
  • boost attainment
  • increase staff morale and wellbeing
  • lower obesity rate
  • meet Ofted’s Cultural and Social Development standards, plus Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare standards
  • contribute to PE premium activity targets

The Daily Mile is not only free, it’s super-simple to implement. The even better news is that there’s support available from MSP for schools in Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St. Helens and Wirral to get started with the initiative and to sustain it.

When you sign up for The Daily Mile with support from  MSP, you get a host of benefits:

  • 1-2-1 support to get you started with The Daily Mile
  • help to keep the whole school fired up in the longer-term, with a regular supply of ideas and inspiration
  • regular updates via MSP’s newsletter when you choose to sign up (The Daily Mile Coordinator for MSP will send you a sign-up link)
  • plus, the chance to be one of a limited number of schools who’ll be offered the chance to have a video case study produced, to demonstrate the impact of the initiative in their school
  • a free welcome pack, which will be emailed to the school when you sign up on The Daily Mile website and opt-in for communications. Plus you’ll receive a hard-copy welcome pack, containing stickers, a  certificate and much more!
  • access to the School Self-evaluation Tool, specially developed by MSP to demonstrate the positive impact of making The Daily Mile part of your school’s regular day
