The Liverpool City Region (LCR) is committed to becoming a place where equality for women and girls in sport and physical activity is a reality. This commitment is formalised through the landmark signing of the Brighton Plus Helsinki Declaration, a global treaty to create a fairer system of sport.
In a trailblazing “twin city region” approach with Greater Manchester, LCR has become one of the world’s first place-based signatories of this historic declaration. Led by Merseyside Sport Partnership (MSP) on behalf of the LCR Combined Authority, alongside partners in Greater Manchester Moving, we are taking a collaborative approach to dismantle the systemic barriers that prevent women and girls from leading active lives.
