Could You Be Liverpool FA’s New Head of Football Development? 

Our partners at Liverpool FA are seeking an inspiring, dynamic, and motivated individual to join them as their new Head of Football Development.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a talented team as they continue to transform the organisation and create a better football experience across the region.

They are looking for a highly skilled and experienced leader to help deliver their 2024-28 Strategy and The FA National Game Strategy.

About the Role

This is a pivotal leadership role within Liverpool FA and the wider grassroots game. The successful candidate will provide strategic direction and effective performance management to a successful team of eight Football Development Officers.

Working across seven local authority areas – Liverpool, Knowsley, Sefton, St Helens, Halton, Warrington, and West Lancashire – you will be responsible for driving the growth and development of football, ensuring opportunities are accessible to everyone. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the development and delivery of the Liverpool FA Strategy to provide high-quality football opportunities across all pathways (women and girls, male, inclusion, workforce, and facilities).
  • Identifying, managing, and developing relationships with strategic partners, stakeholders, and the wider football community.
  • Delivering against The FA’s strategic priorities, encompassing women and girls’ football, disability and inclusion, workforce development, and facility investment.
  • Ensuring every affiliated football fixture is played on a ‘good’ quality pitch by tracking facilities and identifying priority projects for Football Foundation investment.
  • Collaborating with the Designated Safeguarding Officer to embed safeguarding and equality throughout Liverpool FA and grassroots football.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of relevant experience in sports development or operational management, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to use data and insight to design local solutions that meet stakeholder needs.

  • Job Title: Head of Football Development & Deputy Senior Safeguarding Lead
  • Salary: £36,000 – £38,000 plus benefits (dependent upon experience)
  • Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent (35 hours per week)
  • Location: LCFA Sefton, Drummond Road, Thornton, Crosby, L23 9YP. (Hybrid working is available).
