Merseyside Sports Partnership is the Active Partnership for Liverpool City Region (covering Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens, Wirral, Knowsley and Halton) hosted by Liverpool City Council.

We are now seeking an energetic, partnership and people-focused leader for the organisation. You will have a passion for increasing opportunities for individuals to be physically active as part of their everyday lives, harnessing the power of movement to deliver positive life outcomes supporting health and wellbeing, educational attainment, employment and many other life improving outcomes across all age ranges in all our communities.

To help deliver these objectives, Sport England have committed £2,985,505 Active Partnership investment 2022-2027 into Liverpool City Council which supports the delivery of their national strategy ‘Uniting the Movement’. In this strategic cycle, Active Partnerships are tasked with two main roles; Systemic change across localised cross-sector partners and local delivery of nationally connected projects and research.

MSP’s role is the role of a strategic advocate / influencer within the region to embed physical activity into policy, plans and place, focusing on tackling the inequalities that exist and support Sport England to achieve their vision as set out in their new strategy Uniting the Movement (https://www.sportengland.org/why-were-here/uniting-the-movement)

The successful candidate will be supported by an Advisory Board encompassing a broad range of skills including commerce, national sporting governing bodies, HR, health, children and young people and equality, diversity and inclusion.

Come and be part of something fantastic, helping to change lives across Merseyside.
